Repainting older images has been a way for me to create some of my best pieces. When I started painting in a looser and thicker style many of my older pieces seemed bare. I thought why not paint over them. I would save canvas and stretcher and have the opportunity to review the image and make changes. Some times I would decide on a color scheme borrowed from another artist or set up a different mood for the image. On "Yellowstone River" I made the colors more subdued and the paint way thicker. I had fun dragging wet over wet, mmm delicious!
